Awarded Qualification:
Basic Vocational Qualification in Sewing Industry
Objective
The program aims to train highly qualified specialists for the sewing industry. Graduates will be able to construct, model, and produce garments for women, men, and children, as well as various functional sewn products. The program also covers the production and decorative design of traditional Georgian clothing, garment repair, alteration, and restoration, selection and use of sewing machines and heat-finishing equipment, and quality control of sewn products.

Employment Opportunities
Holders of a Basic Vocational Qualification in Sewing Industry can be employed in large, medium, and small sewing enterprises, as well as in fashion salons, in positions such as tailor or pattern maker.

Select primary and auxiliary materials required for garment production, create sketches, and cut fabrics.

Perform design and modeling for women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing.

Produce traditional Georgian clothing in material.

Produce women’s garments in material.

Produce men’s garments in material.

Program Volume
The professional educational program “Sewing Production” comprises 100 credits divided into general and professional/industry-specific modules. General modules account for 17 credits, while professional/industry-specific modules account for 83 credits.
The program includes both theoretical and practical training. The full-time duration of the program is 2 years.
Note: For enrolled students who do not demonstrate competence in the Georgian language, the program will begin with Georgian language modules (Georgian A2 and Georgian B1). In this case, the program duration is 2 years and 3 months.
To be awarded the qualification, students must complete 100 credits of the Sewing Production program. Students without verified Georgian language competence must complete 115 credits.
