The history of Panacea Public College

The history of Panacea Community College dates back to the 1870s of the 19th century. The “Olga Midwifery School”, operating in 1875–1878, laid the foundation for the medical education tradition that the College continues to this day.

In the 1940s, based on the “Olga Midwifery School”, the “Second Medical School” was established. For many years, it trained qualified professionals for the healthcare sector and further strengthened the institution’s role in preparing specialists for the country’s medical system.

In 2011, as a logical continuation of its historical development, the school adopted a modern identity and was established as Panacea Public College LLC.

To this day, the College’s driving idea is to provide high-quality vocational education services focused on employment. The majority of our graduates work successfully in leading medical and various specialized institutions across Georgia, clearly demonstrating the practical orientation of our educational programs and the alignment of their content with labor market demands.

One of the key foundations for supporting employment is the College’s broad and strong network of partners. Cooperation agreements have been signed with more than 30 companies in the sector. Long-term collaboration, a responsible approach, and results-oriented teaching have built Panacea Public College’s reputation as a stable, reliable, and qualified partner—both for the educational community and for employers.

Panacea Public College is also actively involved in the development of vocational education. The College is the author/co-author of various vocational education resources.

Since 2013, Panacea College has been a founder and a board member of the Association of Private Colleges of Georgia, actively participating in the development of the country’s vocational education system and policy-making.

Since 2016, the College has actively cooperated with partner colleges abroad. These connections ensure the sharing of experience and best practices, which further improves the quality of the learning process and connects the College with the European educational area.

Since 2020, Panacea Public College has entered a new stage of development—it became a multidisciplinary college and actively began introducing in-demand and strategically important vocational programs for the country.

Today, Panacea Public College is a vocational educational institution based on historical traditions and oriented toward modern standards, with the student’s success remaining the top priority—quality education, a strong practical component, and real employment prospects.
